Sharing its title with one of the touristiest destinations in Jaipur, the City Palace Hotel is known for its warm hospitality and efficient staff that makes one feel completely at home. To welcome the guests, the City Palace is lit up in the evening and the elephants in colourful trappings greet the guests at the entrance, as they are led into a 18th century room and given a taste of true Rajasthani royalty.
Although not a guesthouse in the strict sense of the term, the place does have elegant enclosures that are only opened for the special guests known to the royal family. The guests often enjoy their cocktails here and then proceed for dinner to another fabulously beautiful room, decorated in the early 19th century, with gold leaf floral motifs on its walls and ceilings. A blissful ambience reminiscent of the 19th century is created, leaving the guests completely awestruck by its sheer opulence.
